Return value - Numeric

Nested READs are created by issuing @ ... GETS and a READ in a routine that's executed during an active READ. READs can be nested to five levels.

Use RDLEVEL() to return the level of the current READ command. RDLEVEL() returns a value of 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5, depending on how deep the current READ is nested. RDLEVEL() returns 0 if no READ is executing.

In the following example, pressing CTRL+Z at any time displays the current READ level using RDLEVEL(). You can advance to the next READ level by pressing Enter or you can move back a READ level by pressing Esc. Note the use of the VALID clause with @ ... GET and a UDF to create nested READs.
